Project Overview

In the fast-paced world of online food delivery, mobile applications play a crucial role in connecting users with a variety of restaurants and cuisines. Despite that, complex navigation flow and unclear user interface structure creates feeling of frustration during the whole experience.

This academic project gave my team the opportunity to conduct an end-to-end user experience research and translated our findings into a research-driven prototype with interface improvements on our chosen food delivery app, Foodpanda. Through the project, we aimed to provide a clear structure with improved interface and functionality to better support various users and their needs.

The Problem
After the pandamic, food delivery apps have been deeply integrated into our everyday lives. Through surveys and interviews, it has been discovered that users often encounter difficulties with the navigation of the app, locating certain information like coupons and reward systems, and completing checkout services.

Our Solution
After experiencing the original Foodpanda app and receiving feedback throughout the design process, a prototype was created to better suit the users' needs through clear navigation structures, improved interfaces and more efficient ordering interactions. Instead of introducing new features, the prototype focused on the redesign of features that were highlighted by the users as the source of the frustrations, strengethening the clarity and flow of existing interactions and interface to allow optimised progress through the app with their intended purpose.
